Bobcat In Search Of Another

Bobcats are an unusual daytime visiter to this beaver pond.  On this particular day, however, in the midst of a mild draught, this bobcat arrives and appears to be looking for someone.  He quietly meow-calls (something that you may be able to hear in the video) and he also makes a common but hard to capture on film “flehmen response”, where he grimmaces and pulls in air to an internal organ that specializes in detecting pheromones. 

Each of these photographs is selected from raw video footage taken from a moment in time of a wild animal’s life.  Each is printed and then hand-mounted on a 5″x7″ photo block. They can be hung as a series on a wall (horizontally, vertically, or in any configuration) or displayed on a shelf or desk.
